The Beatles. Enough Said.

Photo from here

So, yeah, the Beatles are amazing. They changed the sound of pop music and continue to be an influence on songwriters today. And I know they wrote smart music, ironic and meaningful music, protest music, but my favorite of their songs are their love songs. And though I admire John Lennon's cleverness and vision, I'm really more of a fan of Paul's songwriting - sweet, charming or kinda sexy.

Which of the Beatles' do you think was the best (or at least your favorite) songwriter? Why? I plan to do a song sketch by whichever one wins the poll!

P.S. Feel free to follow me! I promise only ever to lead you to bright, sunny places!
P.P.S. It looks like most of you are like me and take forever to take down decorations; 60% of those who answered said you leave them up for a while! Yay for procrastinators! And I guess the general consensus is that to de-decorate, ya just have to grin and bear it. Oh well.

  1. Hmmm, that's a hard one! I think I like the earlier Beatles songs, they're just so bouncy and bright! So whoever wrote those, go with it! lol

  4. Difficult. It’s the combination of Paul ànd John which made The Beatles so unique. I guess for a real Beatles fan this question is nearly unanswerable. Whatever song you pick it will sound great!

  5. I'm with Rob -John AND Paul. It's very hard to name a great song that 'the other one' wasn't involved in. After all Lennon wrote Revolution No 9 on his own and Paul wrote Maxwell's Silver Hammer without any help from John...
