How I Have Survived My Flu

My cozy slippers have been with me the whole ride, sniffles to sore throat to sneezes to coughs and back again.    They are dear to my heart. And feet.

So... as you may have read in my previous post, I have been suffering from a flu.  Sigh.  (And cough, cough!)  I don't think I've actually been sick in a few years so it's not really a tragedy but I confess I'm not really sure what to do when I'm sick!  The good/not good thing about being sick with a baby is that I don't spend the whole day in bed because, well, he's not really interested in spending the whole day in bed and I'm not interested in spending the whole day in bed while he's on the loose.

But I'm on the other end of my bout with the flu and I will share with you, loyal readers, how I got through it.

I absolutely adore fancy, schmancy tea but this tea that I found at Target is my current favorite, unfancy/schmancy as it is.

I have been eating the pumpkin bread from a Trader Joe's mix (sent in a Christmas care package from my loving brother since we don't have a Trader Joe's here) but this one from Andrea Meyers' blog looks delicious too!

I watched this movie with my sister whilst in the throes of the illness.  Funny and charming, might I just say!

So, as you can see, I didn't do too badly off, being sick!  I recommend my get-well regimen to anyone, ill or not!

I know it's not quite the season for hot tea, but, to be honest, that's never stopped me from drinking it!  One of my favorites, Earl Grey, is such a gorgeous flavor and tastes like how I imagine a field of flowers smelling after the rain.

Tea for ... Me!

I absolutely love tea.

So much so, that for my birthday, I always ask for a new and different flavor. My usual go-to grocery store tea is Republic of Tea (and Harney and Sons has some amazing flavors too) but I have had two of these Octavia teas from Whole Foods (I got the Chocolate Mint for my birthday last Tuesday!) and, not only are they yummy, but the artwork on the tins is ga-or-geous! I'm looking forward to using the emptied tins for pencils on my desk.

What teas do you all recommend?

Seven of a Million Things...

I hope everyone had a marvelous Thanksgiving in the States and a wonderful Thursday everywhere else!

Happy New Year! Rereleases and shows...

I hope everyone's New Year was everything they hoped it'd be... AND MORE! Mine certainly was.

I've rereleased my first EP (Alice in Wonderland, Bathsheba's Psalm, etc.) on iTunes- still under Emma Wallace- so check it out and write a sweet and loving review!

Also, there are two vegetarian tea houses in Orlando. Two! And, guess what, I'm going to play at the second one this Friday at 9 p.m.! So come by Dandelion Communitea on Friday, January 18 at 9 p.m.! Hurrah! I'll be playing at Infusion again February 22 at 7:30 if, for some wild reason, you aren't able to make the 18th.

Tunes and Tea!

On Friday, October 5 at 7:30 p.m. I'll be playing at Infusion Tea (1600 Edgewater Dr., Orlando, FL 32804) so it will be an excellent evening filled with Infusion's delicious tea (or hot cocoa, if you prefer) and my songs. It is a family-friendly environment so feel free to bring anyone you're related to, regardless of age.

In other news, my CD is available locally at Park Ave CDs (2916 Corrine Drive, Orlando, FL, 32803), so if shopping online (via my website or iTunes) is a terror of yours and you won't be available to attend my show on the fifth, I highly recommend stopping by there to pick up a copy. It's a great store and you'll feel hip-er (hipper? hippier? more hip?) just walking in.

I hope to see all sorts of friendly faces on the fifth! Hooray for October!
