Music on Breaking Amish!

Both songs were played during Kate scenes.  :o)

So, I had not one but TWO songs placed on TLC's show Breaking Amish!  I have my songs in Getty Images music library and they picked out Exceed My Expectations and Alice in Wonderland!  How completely and utterly awesome is that?  Pretty awesome.

How Cheerfully He Seems to GrinSong Sketch

So, here is a little, teensy recording I did of the poem "How Doth the Little Crocodile" from Alice in Wonderland for last Friday's literary-minded Rose-Colored Radio Show.  This was the part of the Disney movie that always seemed to get in my head when I was a little girl so when I picked out a poem to 'read,' this was the one I chose!

Alice...(drumroll, please)

I'm releasing an Alice in Wonderland-inspired EP this month (since Alice in Wonderland is such an under-utilized theme in music/film/art. Ahem) with five original songs!

There are just so many fun parts to the Alice story from the White Rabbit to the tea to croquet (which I actually never wrote a song about) so it was easy to find inspiration.

Although the visuals will probably be closer to John Tenniel's classic illustrations, I love this depiction by one of my favorite illustrators, Jessie Willcox Smith.

Alice In Wonderland Not A Song Sketch, Really

Excuses, excuses, I know, but I'm working on my Christmas album and a very high maintenance four-week-old (mostly the four-week-old, to be honest) so I haven't recorded a new song sketch! However, here is a song from my very first EP, Alice in Wonderland, called, well, Alice in Wonderland. I'm sure all of you have purchased and listened to my EP more times than you can count but in case not, or just for a little refresher, here it is! One of my first songs ever.

I also have had several requests for the sheet music for this song and it just occurred to me that I had paid someone to transcribe it for me last year! So here it is!

Currently In Wonder (land)

This is utter amazingness. Someone in Hungary has covered Alice in Wonderland, a song of mine! I stumbled across it last night on YouTube.

How wonderful is that?!

P.S. Feel free to follow me! I promise only ever to lead you to bright, sunny places!

I Got Rhythm, I Got Twitter...

I'm now on Twitter! You can follow my incredibly enlightened and witty sayings nonstop if you follow my screenname- @iamemmamusic.

You should also check out this youtube video made by a listener in Mexico- a little more noir than my typical lollipops and rainbows style, but very artistic!

Happy New Year! Rereleases and shows...

I hope everyone's New Year was everything they hoped it'd be... AND MORE! Mine certainly was.

I've rereleased my first EP (Alice in Wonderland, Bathsheba's Psalm, etc.) on iTunes- still under Emma Wallace- so check it out and write a sweet and loving review!

Also, there are two vegetarian tea houses in Orlando. Two! And, guess what, I'm going to play at the second one this Friday at 9 p.m.! So come by Dandelion Communitea on Friday, January 18 at 9 p.m.! Hurrah! I'll be playing at Infusion again February 22 at 7:30 if, for some wild reason, you aren't able to make the 18th.
