So, I am lucky to have several fashionista blogger friends so I consider myself up (ish) on new trends. Although I tend to spend my money on new, um, food rather than new fashion, I still like to pretend-shop the newest looks.
Some things would look simply awful on me, while others are, well, more loving of my shape. My shape is definitely more flattered by the hourglass designs - too loose and I look a trifle dowdy - but I'm fascinated (and impressed) by bloggers who can wear pleated pants or blousy shirts or miniskirts and look gorgeous.
What about you? What styles love you or love you not?
P.P.S. It appears that affection is the best way for my readers' hearts to be stolen! Who knew?
Yeah, I tend to try and flatter my waist and not so much the hip area! It's funny how one piece of clothing can make or break your look- there really is an art to it! :D and... NO pleats for me! ;)
ReplyDeleteI have a short torso and no hips or waist to speak of so blouses that have darts to give the illusion of a waist work good for me.
ReplyDeleteI do wish more styles from the 40's and 50's would come back!
I think I adore the 60s clean mod look but I'm not so sure it would suit me! I think a 50 a-line Dior day dress would look a treat on me however! I am quite partial to the pretty shoulder detail of a 40s suit too!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your comment! I'm really excited to have found your site, and inspired to share more music. I am double excited to find that you are a new Mama. Congratulations! Children are such a blessing. I hope to keep up with you more in the future.
ReplyDeleteTake Care,
Claire
To be honest, I'm not sure. I do know that I can't pull of harem pants - much as I love them - when I try, I come out looking rather odd. Otherwise, I'm afraid I'm not gutsy enough in fashion to know what styles don't work!
ReplyDeleteYes I am not so good with bulky clunky shoes. I have bird legs and that look is no good on me! hahaha
ReplyDeleteI could never do pleated pants either. Just the thought scares me, haha. Sometimes I think I wear things that are a little dowdy on me, but it's a good learning experience figuring out what works and what doesn't.
