Chocolates or flowers? Or a massage? Or getting your car's oil changed? There are a ton of ways to make someone feel loved. For me, I confess - it's all about the compliments. I'm an easy target for salesman - call me beautiful, like my eyes, laugh at my lame puns - I'll buy. I have had boys give me orchids, sing me songs and, though I may be touched, it really takes much less (or at least much different) to capture my heart.
What about you? What captures your heart? Compliments? Favors? Gifts? Affection? Spending time together?
I thin for me, it's spending time and esp. laughing together!
ReplyDelete(But uhm...a nice compliment once in a while doesn't hurt, either ;) )
For me, it's a combination :) Plus the little things!
ReplyDeleteI always say (for Valentine's) a box of chocolates and garden picked flowers! I too am a sucker for a nice compliment though! :D
ReplyDeleteEmma, one of your songs is on Jezebel.com right now!!! I was so psyched to hear it!
ReplyDeleteWith my husband it was wit.
ReplyDeleteWe had been in a play together for a few weeks and never really talked or paid much attention to eachother and then we had one very witty conversation and I immediately knew I would have to marry him.
I also must say, being tall, I get a thrill when anyone can actually sweep me off my feet and carry me for any distance (another mark in my husband's favor, he makes me look small). Some of the actors in my current play seem to have figured this out because now they pick me up and spin me around almost every time I see them.
I guess a combination of things. No point giving a gift and then saying mean things or ignoring somebody entirely...lol
ReplyDeleteI want to feel adored!
Ah, I love the Norman Rockwell covers of the Saturday Evening Post :)
ReplyDeleteAffection and spending time together is what makes me feel loved. Though, I must say compliments and gifts are always nice, too ;)
