For I Love From Head to Toesie

I admit it - I love watching fanvids with my songs!  What a wonderful feeling to see someone else be creative with my music.

This is the newest one I discovered - sooooooo adorable!   Disney babies... enough said.

Well, never fear!  I now have physical cds available!  Just click on that button on my side bar and you can order one (or four!).

I Couldn't Possibly Hushabye! Because It's Here!

That's right! My newest album, Love Songs and Lullabies is out digitally!  You can get it from iTunes, Amazon.com, CDBaby and many, many more much smaller music stores!  Please download it and write a perfectly glowing review about how it helped your 3-month-old to sleep the second you pressed play!

I will also have physical c.d.s for sale, for those that prefer it and for gift-giving purposes, both on my blog and on my website.  I haven't received them yet but as soon as I do, you all will be the first to know.

And, I'm starting a brand-new radio show - Emma Wallace's Rose Colored Radio Show that will be on my blog on Wednesday!  It will be filled with songs, laughs and more so be sure to come back and have a listen.

Plus, extra-special thanks to Kate Gabrielle for redoing my blog. She is a genius.

Well, enough reading of blogs, go out and listen to my newest c.d.!  And, as always, thank you so much for your support!

Under Construction - Week Eight

Song Sketch and Big Blog Announcement!

Well, I'm afraid I still am waiting on hearing back from people...  I have designed the c.d. cover and am very excited about it coming out!  So that's good, right?

And, my blog is getting a, wait for it... Radio Show!  That's right, starting with the advent of my next album, Love Songs and Lullabies, I'll be recording a podcast in the style of an old variety show.  So please be sure to check back in for updates!  Woohoo!

The song above was recommended by a fan as a quintessential lullaby.  I added in an original little melody to it that comes in halfway through (though I'm only posting up the first portion of it).
What do you think?

And wishing all American readers a lovely holiday and international readers a lovely day period!

A Little Something Different as We Await the Lullaby Album...

The song is now available on iTunes and CDBaby!  Look up Cachaça in the Summer!

I've really done all I can on my end now, so it's my job to quiet the anxious mob growing clamoring (clamoring, I say) for my next album, Love Songs and Lullabies.  Fortunately, something really amazing happened on Friday... a song of mine got picked up for the abc family show Make It Or Break It!  It'll be played during the two-hour season finale on Monday, May 23- very exciting.

The song is one I've posted on the blog earlier ; it will be in the album after the lullaby one (an album that'll be out late summer/early autumn) but I have also released it on CDBaby as a single - Cachaça in the Summer*.  I'm posting it up here now for download but as soon as the song becomes available on iTunes, etc., I'm going to pull it off my blog so if you haven't downloaded it yet, be sure to do it!

The art I'm using for the single is by Brian Demeter (who is going to do the art for the whole album when it comes out).  He's brilliant!

Under Construction - Week Seven

Song Sketch

Well, I'm still done but in the waiting process.  Sigh.  I'm not very good at the waiting process, to be honest.  Alas.

This is a song I've released before and I'd also almost put it on the lullaby c.d. but the arrangement wasn't very lullaby-esque.  The original treatment of the song, by Bing Crosby,  is a perfect lullaby so I thought I'd post both up for you to hear! Unfortunately the quality is a little rough on the video but you get the feeling!

I hope this week brings lots of "pennies from heaven" for you!

Under Construction - Week Six

Song Sketch

Here's a pic that was taken from a photo shoot during that time!  I miss that necklace...

I am actually 100% finished with the album!  I'm at the wait and wait point - waiting on the album to finish getting mastered, waiting on the covers to be approved for licensing, waiting on iTunes to accept my album, etc., etc.  But that's all very exciting!

I want to thank everyone who donated money to my album fund!  I actually overmet my goal of $300!  For those who never specified, please be sure to email me with whether you want a signed print by the cover artist or an exclusive original song!

This is another of the songs I recorded with Dan Garcia (who is doing the mastering on my Love Songs and Lullabies album!); you can hear the difference right off from the one on the album!

Hope you are all doing wonderfully!

Under Construction - Week Five

Song Sketch

Pic from here

This is actually not a song from the album.  It is a song I thought about putting on the album but decided that since I was doing So This is Love from Cinderella, just one Disney princess song was good.  But I thought I'd post it up anyway and give you a break from my little partial songs!

I also wrote an update about the album on a special Sunday post here.

The Baby (album) is Almost Here!

My newest album, Love Songs and Lullabies, is coming out next month! Just in time for Mother's Day-ish! Yay! It'll be perfect for both babies and people who want to be babied (and don't we all need that sometimes?). It'll be a mix of originals and covers - a couple instrumentals, the rest vocals, and all completely soooooothing.

After polling and asking people whether to release it digital-only or both c.d. and digitally I've decided that the subject matter of the album will mean it's given a lot as a gift to new parents and such. So I'm going to release it as a physical c.d. too.

Part of the reason I've balked at the c.d. thing is also the un-eco-friendliness of the jewel cases so I'm so excited to have discovered an adorable little eco-friendly c.d. wallet duplicated by a little independent company. Hooray!

Which brings me to this:

Getting a short run of the c.d. costs about $300. Since I hadn't budgeted that into my album-creation-costs, I thought just maybe you might be willing to help a bit.

Of course, I know you have already helped me out a ton with this album - offering song suggestions, feedback, translations, pronunciation and lyric help, etc., etc. So firstly, thank you so much.

If you're willing to help out financially too and you donate any amount to my PayPal address, I'll send you a digital download card with the album on it for free once the album is released plus your choice of either a limited signed print by the artist who created my album cover (it's her picture up top!) or an original song* emailed to you.

Thank you again for all your help and feedback in the past and for all your constant support.

You are the best in the whole world.
Love,

Emma

*This song will never be available to anyone else by sale or ever released on an album.

Just wanted to thank you all! I've met and actually, overmet my goal!

Under Construction - Week Four

Song Sketch

I'm almost almost done!  I just have vocals to add to two songs and then a final mix-down and then mastering and then send it in to CDBaby for them to send to iTunes and then my lullaby album will be available to soothe any and everyone to sleep.  Yay!  Shhhhh...

Here is the opening riff to another original lullaby I've written.  This is one of the two songs that require vocals (actually, they're both originals! I leave those guys for last) but you can hear the harp at the beginning.  This song was inspired by all those creepy lullabies that warn babies of witches and boogeymen; mine is not lyrically scary at all (it's me, you know.  I'm more easily scared than a four-year-old) but I wanted that kind of dark, medieval feel.

Under Construction - Week Three

Song Sketch

Leetle by leetle... I'm getting the album done! Believe it or not, trying to complete an album while taking care of an almost-seven-month-old is a bit tough. But enough excuses!

Here is the first verse of one of the originals that is going to be on my album. It's completely the rough - I just have the basic take (no mixes - there aren't any effects on the voice or anything; in fact, I'm not even sure this is the vocal take I'm going to use!) - so you can hear what it sounds like at the very very beginning!

Mine is to Reason Why

If I had a nickel for every time I asked this question... I think I'd have around ten to fifteen cents. Which, for a blogger, means I've probably asked this question too many times. However, I still like keeping track of buying trends, especially right before I release an album!

What I'd love to know is how many readers still purchase physical c.d.s when they have a chance and why they do!

Under Construction - Week Two

Song Sketch

My brother and me a couple years ago...

I'm almost done with all the instrumental parts of the upcoming album! Hooray! It's been a completely different challenge trying to figure out how to make the album both varied enough for the grown up listeners to enjoy the songs and consistent enough to lull a little one to sleep. You see I want people to like the album whether they use it for a baby or just to help them wind down themselves!

Here is a snippet of a song I'm covering - it's a song my dad actually used to sing to my sisters and me every night. Oddly enough, I couldn't fall asleep while he was singing - I had to wait until he was all done and everything was quiet - but I still loved it!
